Laser Tag Fundraiser & Community Campaign

Each year, Razor Aquatics holds one major fundraising campaign to help sustain and grow our program. Instead of asking families to participate in multiple fundraisers throughout the year, we focus our efforts into one exciting, team-centered event that brings together swimmers, families, and the broader community.

Our fundraiser combines friendly competition, community support, and a laser tag tournament finale, all while raising the funds needed to keep our program strong and accessible.

Why This Fundraiser Matters

Razor Aquatics is a coach-owned, independent swim program, which means we are responsible for covering all of our own operating costs, including:

• Pool rental and lane time

• Coaching staff salaries

• Training resources and equipment

• Competition expenses

• Program development and expansion

We intentionally work to keep participation costs affordable so that more families, especially Black families, have access to competitive swimming and swim education. Drowning rates among Black youth are a real problem and representation in competitive swimming from Black youth is disproportionately low.

Support from this fundraiser allows us to:

• Maintain a high-quality competitive swim program

• Reduce financial barriers for families

• Expand swim instruction opportunities in our community

• Provide access to lifelong swimming skills and competition pathways

Every donation helps us continue this mission.

How the Fundraiser Works

Families on the team participate in fundraising over a four-week period, sharing campaign pages with friends, relatives, and community supporters.

Families are paired into small fundraising teams called RCGs (Razor Cooperation Groups). These groups work together during the campaign and later compete in a laser tag tournament.

The more funds an RCG raises, the higher their score multiplier becomes during the tournament, increasing their chances of winning.

Throughout the campaign, swimmers earn:

• Weekly fundraising prizes

• Daily privilege rewards

• Participation incentives

• Friendly competition recognition

Laser Tag Tournament Finale

At the end of the fundraising period, the campaign concludes with our Laser Tag Tournament, where RCG teams compete for fun and prizes.

Each group forms a five-person team made up of swimmers, parents, or supporters to represent them in competition. All swimmers also participate in individual laser tag matches.

This event is always one of the highlights of the season and brings the entire team community together.

Grand Prize

The RCG team that wins the laser tag tournament earns a destination weekend trip credit.

Winning families receive:

• Travel credit toward flights and/or lodging

• Choice of destination city

• Flexible trip planning with team leadership

This reward celebrates both fundraising success and tournament performance.
