What Is the Friends & Family Athlete Challenge?
The Razor Aquatics Friends & Family Athlete Challenge is a team-based athletic competition designed to bring families, friends, and athletes together for a day of speed, strength, power, agility, and fun. Families on the Razor Aquatics Swim Team put together athlete teams consisting of swimmers on the team, family members of swimmers, and friends and acquaintances of the family to participate in the Athlete Challenge on Saturday, August 29th. Participants earn points for themselves and the team they are representing by ranking in the top ten performances of an athletic event for each age and gender division.
The Six Challenges
Every participant will compete in six athletic events designed to test a different aspect of athletic ability.
🏃 40-Yard Dash
Speed & Acceleration
How quickly can you cover 40 yards?
🦘 Broad Jump
Explosive Lower-Body Power
Jump as far as you can from a standing start.
🎾 Ball Retrieval
Agility, Quickness & Coordination
Sprint to retrieve a series of balls and return each one to the starting line as quickly as possible.
🏋🏾 Medicine Ball Throw
Explosive Power
Generate as much power as possible to throw a weighted medicine ball for distance.
🪢 Sandbag Pull
Strength & Power
Pull a weighted sandbag across the finish line as quickly as possible.
🥊 Ball Punch
Upper-Body Explosive Power
Put on the gloves and see how far you can launch the ball with a powerful punch!
How the Competition Works
Participants will compete in age and gender divisions.
Age Divisions
● 5 & Under
● 6–7
● 8–9
● 10–11
● 12–13
● 14–15
● 16–17
● 18+
Each participant will have their performance measured in each of the six athletic events.
The top 10 performances in each age/gender division will earn points toward the overall Athlete Challenge standings.
The higher you finish, the more points you earn.
Your points from all six events will be combined to determine your overall score.
Individual Awards
At the end of the competition:

🥈 2nd Place
🥉 3rd Place
will be awarded to the top three overall point scorers in each age and gender division.
🏆 The Family Challenge Cup
This is where the competition becomes a true team event.
Every participant can represent a family/team connected to a Razor Aquatics athlete.
The points earned by your team’s participants will contribute toward your family’s overall team score.
So bring your:

● Cousins
● Friends
● Teammates
● Neighbors
● Anybody else who’s ready to compete!
At the end of the day, the family/team with the highest cumulative score will be crowned the:

👥 Who Can Participate?
The Friends & Family Athlete Challenge is being built around the Razor Aquatics family network, with Razor Aquatics athletes receiving priority when building their teams.
Participants do not need to be Razor Aquatics swimmers.
Friends, relatives, athletes, and members of the broader community are welcome to participate as space allows. The The registration limit for this year’s event will be 250 participants. Participants will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
Whether you’re an experienced athlete or someone who simply wants to see what you can do, there’s a place for you at the Challenge.

Participants will have the opportunity to purchase $12 Redemption Passes for additional attempts at events.
Didn’t like your 40-yard dash?
Think you can jump farther?
Want another shot at the Ball Punch?
Use a Redemption Pass and try again.
Your best eligible performance will count toward your score.
📅 Event Schedule
9:00 AM — Event Begins
The 18+ division will begin the day’s competition at 9am. The youth age divisions can start arriving at 10am. All participants must be present before 11:30am.
Awards will follow the completion of competition.
More detailed time frames and event-day instructions will be provided to registered participants as the event approaches.
Registration and Fees
Early Registration- registered before August 18

General Registration- registered between August 18 and August 22

Late Registration- registered between August 23 and August 27
$65
